Annual Check-up
I will begin a new cycle of Notes starting next week. But this week I want to invite you to take moment and check-in and see how you are doing. The following is a self-care check-up that I hope will aide you in setting goals for yourself in the coming year.
Again, thank you for continuing to subscribe. I invite you to send me any feedback you believe would be helpful in improving this self-care notes. If you have any ideas regarding topics in self-care feel free to email me at [email protected] .
Self-Care Check-up
If you want to get some idea about how you are doing, I encourage you to listen in on your inner voices with these questions.
- Do I spend more time seeking ways to meet the needs of others or myself?
- Do I have people around me that I can trust with my needs and do I actually entrust myself to them?
- Am I able to identify the sources and moments of joy in my life?
- As I look ahead do I believe my best days are ahead or behind me?
A growing capacity for love and trust signals that we are fed and sustained by our relationships. A growing ability to experience joy and hope reveals a growing capacity to deal with difficult situations in our lives. Both of these offer us clues that we are taking good care of ourselves, body-mind-soul.
If you are feeling drawn away from love and trust, joy and hope then perhaps you need to spend some time looking for the pain or struggle in your body-mind-soul.
It is vital to remember, self-care is a daily discipline, not a once a year exercise. By listening to our selves, taking care of our health, nurturing meaningful relationships, and dealing with the stress of daily life, we can all live a life that brings joy to ourselves and to those around us.
Live well, my friends.
